Lately I've been hearing much in the news about Gay activism, Gay pride, same sex marriage, and Gay pastors. What does the Bible really have to say about homosexual relationships. Does God really condone such behavior?

In my Bible reading, there are several passages I have run accross which speak of God's view of homosexuality. In every passage, he condemns such behavior as being an abomination. This type of behavior goes against everything he designed into us. The Bible also states that those who practice this lifestyle, as well as those who condone it, will not enter into Heaven.

Genesis 19 : 1 -- 29 speaks of God's angels entering the city of Sodom in order examine it. Lot takes them into his house for their protection, and the men of the city attempt to take the angels by force to have sex with them.

In Leviticus 18 : 22 the Bible says You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. In Leviticus 20:13, God pronounces the death penalty for homosexuality.

Romans 1: 26 - 32 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Galations 5 : 16 -- 26 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

I have not commented much on the above passages, but I think the message is quite clear. God calls us to repentence. He wishes us to live a better life than that which we would choose for ourselves, and after this life, spend eternity with him. Let us put away wickedness, and live a life pleasing to God.

This day and age marks the first time in all the known history of creation that men are marrying men, and women marying women. The biblical definition of marriage, the union of a man and woman before God, knows no such activity. Men cannot have a union before God with other men. The same goes for women. Such a thing is a slap in the face at God, and we are not telling the truth about our nation, that we are under God, when we allow such things to take place. Having said that, our laws do and aught to allow men and women to choose this wrongheaded course. However, we should not be calling it marriage, nor should we be saying that God looks on this with approval when he has so clearly stated in his word that this is wrong. That the courts have overturned the laws of California defining marriage and specifying civil unions for gays is, in my mind, a giant step in the wrong direction.
